I have worked for the Effingham County Board of Education since 2001. I have been married 22 years to my high school sweetheart. We have 3 boys and a girl. There is no where I'd rather live or work. As a Reading Recovery Teacher, I offer reading and writing support to children in K-5. I love having the opportunity to share my love of reading and help students become lifelong and successful readers.
I have been a Reading Recovery teacher and literacy interventionist since 2009. I am currently working on my Specialist degree through Georgia Southern University. Prior to teaching, I served in the U.S. Coast Guard for six years after receiving my undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia . In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and camping with my dogs.
I am a graduate of Georgia Southern University and I have taught in Effingham County for 24 years. I began my career in highschool but moved to elementary school when my children started school. I have been married for 25 years and we have 3 wonderful young men. Reading is a passion of mine.
