Teacher of the Year

SEES Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Christain teaches third grade math, science, and social studies at South Effingham Elementary School in Guyton, Georgia.She has taught in the Effingham County School System for the last 14 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University. She was named Teacher of the Year for South Effingham Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year.  Mrs. Christain is both Project Wild and Project Lead the Way certified. She serves on the Effingham County math content leadership team, and leads her grade level through the professional learning community process each week. She also serves as the chair of her school’s hospitality committee and coordinates major fundraising efforts to benefit the Cure Childhood Cancer Foundation. Mrs. Christain believes that her job is to instill habits and behaviors in students that will allow them to not only be successful in third grade, but for a lifetime. Mrs. Christain has a husband and two sons, which keep her very busy. She loves attending her children's sporting events and traveling.
